Diana DeGarmo & Ace Young

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat came to Ohio on March 4th -16th, 2014 at Cleveland’s Playhouse Square, the two main performers were Diana DeGarmo as the narrator and Ace Young as Joseph.

Both from American idol,  Diana came onto the scene in the 3rd season and Ace popped in on the 5th season. The two  became engaged on May 23rd, 2012 after Ace surprised Diana with a ring on the American Idol season 11 finale.

Below is how I met the two, enjoy!

I like to perform in plays but have never really been a huge fan of going to watch them so I had decided to skip out on this one. Shari had bought tickets to a Sunday night performance for her and a friend, she was going to meet the cast afterwards. However her date for the show did NOT want to stick around afterwards so Shari called in the recruits.. me. Sunday night was bad for me especially with work early the next morning so I was up in the air about it. If I could get Pat to come with then it would have been easier to go but we still had a few days to think about it and I told her I would get back to her. Then plans changed again, Shari decided to go up Saturday and try to meet Diana and Ace and once again invited me to go along. It’s really hard for me to turn down a good stalk but Pat and I had plans and didn’t know where we would be at that time, we would play it by ear. Saturday came and went and I totally forgot about the possible plans until I saw Shari’s Facebook photo’s of her and the two. She went up Saturday night all by herself and stood in the cold dark streets of Cleveland waiting for the show to end. When they came out, she was able to get pictures and autograph’s. They even walked her to her car, the sweet people they are.

Now I am all like … “man, I wish I would have went” so I pouted for a minute until Shari informed me they were here for a whole nother week and that she would love to meet them again. So we made plans to head out to Cleveland Thursday night and do a quick snag.

The funny thing is after Sundays show, Shari and her friend accidentally ran into Ace and Diana walking to Starbucks afterwards and got a few mores pictures and autographs.

Now fast forward to Thursday.

I worked till about 4 and then met Shari for dinner around 7 at Fridays, we had a nice time catching up. Shortly after 8 we packed up and headed downtown, found a nice spot to park and then hit the Playhouse. We were early and decided to take a walk to Starbucks, it was dark inside and the sign read closed. Very odd for it to be closed that early, especially in Cleveland when there were things going on. So we walked back and decided to wait it out, luckily for us the crowd had started to exit. We found the stage door and slipped inside and off of the sidewalk to try to block some of the wind from slowly killing us. It was literally freezing and I had my tennis shoes on with that breath type material, all of my toes went numb and to the point where it hurt to stand on them. I started jogging in place but that only seemed to warm my upper body up and was doing nothing for my feet. during all of this a mother and her daughter came by and actually walked past us and down into the building, they were kicked out and joined us in the frozen wastelands along with another couple.

Shortly after that the two former Idol contestants came out, there was not much wait time between the show ending and their exit.

Right off the bat they started to talk, shake hands, hug, and greet the 6 of us that were out there. I, like the creeper I am stood off to the side and began recording.

Below is the video of Ace and Diana walking out and then their interaction with everyone, it is two separate videos merged into one.

This video is a great way to show how two celebrities act, happy and unselfish as the camera secretly records.

I love how the camera gets close to them, you can see Ace talking to me after I dropped my pictures on the ground how Diana called me a lovely lady and asked to borrow my sharpie again. Diana after meeting Shari for the 3rd time remembers her name and how to spell it, priceless! These are things that make standing out on the cold streets of Cleveland all worthwhile and we love every minute of it.

Notice right in the beginning how Ace stops and lets Diana walk a head of him, what a gentleman. They both head their separate ways talking to everyone and then make their way to the street and eventually back to the hotel.

A couple of things I like to point out which is something I am good at doing…pointing things out, if it seems like I am acting salty it’s because I am. I want this blog to be a success and by that I have to put forth a lot of effort and time to get it to come together, that also means to take pictures and videos as things are going down. My problem with this whole situation is that when I am recording, I usually get left behind and by that I don’t get to fully interact with the celebrities. In this instance I stand-off to the side and record, casually smiling and throwing out 1 liners here and there without revealing the fact that I am recording. This also means you will rarely see me on camera and you are constantly hearing my horrible voice all loud and slutty coming out of the speakers. It’s a tough job and someone has to do it, right? RIGHT!

The security was being very nice about it but she was also being very pushy, she kept telling me if I wanted a picture I would have to jump into one with a complete stranger to make things go by quicker ( you might even be able to hear it on the video). I agreed but took my time getting there, I don’t want to upset anyone but I am also not going to have a bunch of randoms in my picture with me either. During all of this I did manage to get my playbill signed, thanks to Shari and all while still recording.

image

image

Finally it seemed like it was my turn to get a picture, pretty much now or never so I jumped in with Shari (at least I knew her) but of course I am off to the side and look like a chach (I am never happy) and then.. get this. I think this is what sets me off, so in the beginning the younger girl gets like 2 pictures with the couple and then at the end her mother was like can I get one too and the nice people that they are allow another fan to get a picture EVEN with the pushy security. So, I have come to the realization that it is ME, I am the problem here. All I had to do was ask “hey can I get one?” but no, I was worried about making them mad or holding them up and therefore am the only one without a solo picture. I don’t think the two would have had a problem as they were very kind and patient and the best part is, the security wasn’t even walking them back to their hotel she just wanted them out of the Playhouse area. So you mean to tell me we could have walked 3 more feet out onto the street and I could have had a little bit more time and not felt rushed about getting a picture with them? Probably, another lesson learned. However I did get a picture and I did get to meet them, get an autograph and some nice video so all in all it was more than a success. I just want everything to be perfect and in life  that is hard to come by, so from here on out I am going to try to be more forward and less of the wallflower. 🙂

Thanks to The Playhouse square and to the great couple Diana and Ace for hanging out in the cold with a bunch of crazy fans!

And to all of YOU, please keep reading, sharing and commenting. Let me know if you have any ideas or thoughts, I would love to hear them.

A Great Big World

A Great Big World!

This story begins one cold January night, OK actually I don’t remember when any of this really happened but I shall tell the tale anyways.

A few weeks ago we found out A Great Big World was coming to The House of Blues on Monday, February 3rd. We planned to buy some tickets, go to the show and stalk before OR after. Well we waited too long and just our luck ..the tickets were sold out, balls! That was fine because our plan was still to snag these two men one way or another, we just didn’t know for sure how we were going to go about it.

We then heard that the group was hitting up two radio stations before arriving at HOB, we pondered the idea of maybe showing up there and skipping the concert. We both worked so everything depended on when we could get off and how quick we could get from point A to point B.

Shari entered to win an in studio pass at 96.5 Kiss FM and we found out Saturday night she won. Now you think this would be easier, and yes it would be BUT now if we wanted to go we would have to make arrangements with our work. I was able to take a half a day and last-minute Shari was able to swing it too with her employer, piece of cake.

The funny thing is, is that the radio station called her the night before and left a message on her home answering machine. However her parents failed to let her know so when she went to call them back and confirm she got no answer, this made us nervous. She called and left a few messages and even contacted them two different ways on Twitter. We went back and forth about it all Sunday night, during the Super Bowl and decided to just go up there. If they gave our seats away we would just creep outside and snag the boys as they walk in OR out but I had a feeling there would not be a problem and there wasn’t.

So Shari and I worked a few hours and when work ended we raced down to Clear Channel where 96.5 Kiss FM lived. We walked up and got right in, no problems at all. They shuffled us into a room filled with a handful of 12 year olds and 2 women in their 40’s who dressed like they were in their 20’s. We waited for a while due to technical difficulties at Q104’s headquarters but they finally showed up, did their sound check and then shuffled us into another room. Like our last in studio experience with Karmin, the two of us got to sit right in the front where all the action is. A few short minutes later  Ian Axel and Chad Vaccarino  walked in, they immediately made interaction with the small group and then jumped right into one of their songs “Rock Star”

I apologize in advance, the video is a bit shaky at first but mellows out. Also, my phones memory was maxed out and cut off recording towards the end, like a weirdo I was at the pet store the day before taking numerous videos of 2 ferrets playing together.

Check out the video below.

Next up was “Say Something” the most anticipated song of the year, or close to it.. performed by Ian. He goes into a little bit about the song and then begins the music on his keyboard. Enjoy the video below!

After that was all said and done they guys were asked a series of questions from some of the ladies in studio, I couldn’t think of anything fun or witty to say so I stayed quiet. Below is the Q & A session.

They put on a very intense, in the moment heartfelt performance. I am very glad we got to go and share the experience with them, they deserve what lies ahead of them.

The guys exited the room and got ready for the photo shoot outside, we followed behind everyone and got in line. We got our pictures taken and received a personalized autographed picture of the two.

Shari

While I was getting my picture taken Shari asked the guys for a shutout which pretty much was them waving and screaming “hi” into the camera. Super cute!

We had a good time, can’t wait for them to roll through Cleveland again!!
Much thanks to 96.5 Kiss FM and to A Great Big World!
AND thank you to all my fans!!
Stalk ya later.

3 Doors Down – All Access Pass

My EPIC night with 3 Doors Down!

I don’t consider myself lucky, you’ll never see me hit a big jackpot or win a large amount on a scratch off ticket but on February 14th, 2014 I started to think differently. It’s not always about winning money or trips but taking a few steps back and looking at what you have and what you’ve been apart of.

For me I am married to a wonderful man who has a wonderful family, I myself have been blessed with a great family as well. We have a good thing going, we work hard and go on vacations, enjoying life to the best of our ability. It’s not the big things but the hundreds of tiny things that make us rich in life and that’s how I’d like to start this post.

Never in a millions years would I have thought that I would be chilling backstage with a popular music group, eating, drinking, and being merry.

My mom texted my brother, sister, uncle, and myself asking if we ever heard of the band 3 Doors Down. I had responded with yes and asked what was up, she then began to explain to me why her sudden interest.

THE BACK STORY

My mom attends church and has met many nice people, one of them happens to be cousins with Chris Henderson from 3 Doors Down. This lady has been following the band around since the late 90’s and I was lucky to have been asked to tag along on this trip, well.. my mom was and she dragged me with her.

I wanted to go so bad but it was Valentines Day and I wasn’t going to leave my husband high and dry on the most romantic night of the year. I had told him the story and he said it was ok for me to go, that he understood how much I love to do this stuff and that it would be a great entry for my blog. I got a hold of my mother right away and we made plans to leave right after work the next day and be in Pittsburgh by 6:00pm.

Friday morning comes around and I am super stoked because I find out not only are we getting tickets to the show but we get to meet and greet the band as well, an ALL ACCESS PASS kinda day. It was a little after 3 and I hightailed it out of work and headed to my mom’s house where we would get picked up by Donna (Chris’s cousin) and then drive down together. We left shortly after 4, making good time and not running into any scary traffic or weather. The ladies had packed sandwiches, fruit, and snacks for us to munch on during the 2 hour ride to Pennsylvania.

We arrived shortly after 6, missing the actual meet and greet but that was fine. We pulled into the parking garage entrance and asked the gentleman running the gate where the buses were parked, Donna showed him her pass and we were on our way. We had to pull back out and search for the street where the buses were resting but after a few turns we spotted them and maneuvered the vehicle between them and a handful of naked trees.

We grabbed a few of our belongings and trudged trough the snow towards the backstage entrance, running into some of the band mates on the way. Donna said hello to them and I stood there gawking like.. I think I know you. One of the guys ended up being Brad Henderson, the lead singer but it was dark and I was unsure so I walked on by and made my way inside. Donna showed her pass to security and we were pointed up some stairs, which we climbed and then walked down a hall and into a room.

FOR ONE NIGHT I WAS A GROUPIE!

Standing in the doorway I could see Chris (who at the time I didn’t quite know was him) sitting on a couch. We headed in and were introduced to Chris and his mother who was hiding behind the door. Donna started catching up and my mom and I just stood there, she had taken her coat off and started to get comfortable but I was still in awe and remained still in my winter attire.

I was just listening to the conversation when Chris’ mom in her sweet southern accent asked if I wanted to get my Cd’s signed.  I was rather embarrassed, of course I wanted them signed but I had JUST walked in the door so the last thing I wanted to do was intrude. I shyly said yes but insisted it could wait, at this time Chris got up and said it was fine and that he should do it now. He asked if that was all I had for him to sign, I thought 2 Cd’s was pushing it but I guess not. He grabbed my stuff and disappeared outside to scrounge up the band and have them sign my stuff. He came back shortly later with 2 signed Cd’s and then continued to chill on the couch but not before we had a photo shoot.

imageimage

Wait for it…Yes, I know..my hair. I had just had it cut the day before and it was super fresh not to mention it spent 8 hours in a hairnet at work so when I exposed it that’s what I got BUT my mom looks awesome. Also please notice, or don’t.. my torpedo boobs, for whatever reason I can’t seem to take a normal picture.

Moving on…

After this was done the ladies went out for a smoke in the freezing snow storm, I decided to stay behind. They disappeared for a while and in the meantime it was just Chris and I sitting across from each other in awkward silence, well he was playing a game on his Ipad, I was the one being awkward. He broke the silence by asking where I was from and we talked about that for a bit before it got quite again. During this time I was going over in my head how to ask him to give a shout out to the website and the more I thought about it the more nervous I got. My mouth dried up and I started to pant loudly, finally I told myself “Lauren, you want this blog to be successful then you need to grow some balls and ask this man for a shout out” and so I did. CHECK out the video below.

After that was all said and done I slithered over to the couch where he was and watched him play a game called “The Room” which is a serious type of puzzle game that I know I would basically stare at the screen and drool but he was pretty sweet at it. I watched him for at least 10 minutes until the ladies came back, Chris’s mom walked into the room and the others grabbed some food and left to eat it.

Did I forget to mention that the hallway was lined with tables that had tons of food and drinks on it? I didn’t, well.. it did.

2.15.14 074

After a few minutes I left Chris and his mom and I went into the other room where my mother and Donna were sitting at a table enjoying some food. As I got in there I realized Brad Arnold, the lead singer was in there too. He just got done eating, was cleaning up and getting ready to leave. I motioned for my mom that I was going to ask him for a picture, I wanted to make sure she was ready. As he walked by I asked and he was more than happy too.

image

I look slightly better in this picture but not much and of course Brad is a cutie which helps take away from my frohawk.

It was almost show time and while the guys were getting ready to go on, I had a little bite to eat since all I had was a couple of car ride snacks. Then Donna came in and delivered our tickets, we finished up and headed down to the theater.

2.15.14 076

We took our seats and only waited maybe 10 minutes before the boys came out and played for us. Brad talked about how their “Songs from the basement” acoustic tour was pretty much a laid back band practice kind of show. The stage was set up like a basement and around them were couches and in those couches were people and one of those people were Chris’s mom, it was really cool how they did that.

The guys were awesome, laid back, and a lot of fun. The sound was amazing and Brad’s voice was fantastic. I was able to snag a few pictures and some video clips of the night in between security running around and yelling at people with cameras.  Check it out below and enjoy!!

2.15.14 0792.15.14 0802.15.14 0822.15.14 0942.15.14 1012.15.14 1102.15.14 1202.15.14 116

The show ended and what a great show it was, I could have watched them all night but unfortunately we had to head back to Cleveland.  However our night doesn’t end here, we headed back up after the show because Chris had a few more family members that were stopping by. We had to wait a few minutes and give the band time to get off stage and situated before we ran back up stairs, plus the women had to smoke again.

So while they were outside I stood on the stairs catching my death every time the door would open up. As I was waiting for everyone to come back inside Justin and Brad came from above, they too were going out into the cold. Check out the video I have of the boys walking by me.

I’m such a creeper Mc.Creeperson.

Finally the ladies were done and we could head back upstairs, while everyone was catching up, mom and I hung out in the hallway scouting for more band members. We found Brad and I was going to ask him for a shout out too but he also had company so I didn’t want to interrupt. I saw he went downstairs and decided I’d catch him on the way back up, he never did HOWEVER Justin Biltonen walked by so we jumped him instead.

He was kind enough to take a picture with me and then mom spoke up “Lauren, didn’t you want to ask him a question?” she totally caught me off guard but he was all like “Yeah, shoot” and I was all like (blank stare) but I was able to get out a few words explaining to him about my blog and if he would hook it up. Mom then asked how the band got their name “3 Doors Down”  he explains it all, Check out the video below!!

imageYes I know, another great picture. :-/

Donna wrapped it up with her family but not before I could get another autograph from Chris, I wanted my ticket stub signed and he was totally down with that. We all bundled up and headed down and out but not before I could snag an autograph from Justin to match the one from Chris on my ticket stub.

) 001

So all pictures were taken, all autographs were signed and now it was time to go. We stepped out into the snow and said out goodbyes, as we sat in the car a few of the band members, Justin was one for sure was outside the bus throwing snowballs at each other.  It was cute and If it wasn’t cold and dark I would have had footage of that too.

Everyone was very nice, special thanks to 3 Doors Down and everyone behind the scenes.

I had a GREAT time and an awesome experience! I want to thank Donna for letting us tag a long and for Chris who welcomed us into his dressing room and personal space. Definitely something I will never forget and hopefully I can be apart of many more opportunities like this in the near future.

Hanson

I have seen Hanson a few times in concert but never thought to try and meet them afterwards, I…don’t…know..why.

When I found out they were coming to the House of Blues on October 19th, we jumped into action, added them to the Stalktober calendar and set out to accomplish that goal.

Shari and I waited until the last minute and had yet to have tickets to the show, we were actually going to this one but as luck would have it I won 2 free tickets off the radio station earlier in the week.

The plan was to get downtown around noonish and wait outside their bus hours before the show, this way we could avoid the angry mob of 30 year old crazy Hanson fans after.

Saturday morning was horrible, it was cold, rainy and once again Shari and I were never prepared and thus had no umbrellas. It was ok though, we managed. Upon getting into downtown, we had the good idea to park on the street right out back of the House of Blues. I had a pocket full of quarters already ready to go, we figured it was close to the bus and we could keep warm and dry at the same time keeping a look out. Well it seemed like we drove around for 30 minutes because Cleveland was building a walkaway and had the street we needed to go on blocked off, so we ended up parking a small walk away for $6.

The bus was already there and when we got closer there was someone waiting off to the side under some ghetto building thing, so we joined her. It was just the 3 of us, she informed Shari and myself that Issac had walked by her and was inside the building.

The rain was picking up along with the wind and our faces were cold and our fingers frozen but we continued to wait. Finally Issac came back out, he walked right by us and waved, put his head down and disappeared into the bus. My video taping skills have NOT gotten any better, I apologize. I think my problem is, is that I don’t want to look like I’m recording but it just ends up looking blah. Anyways, I missed the wave but got the quick pace back the bus.

We kept checking Twitter but The Hanson brothers were not being sociable, however that didn’t stop me from tweeting them and asking if there was a bathroom on that bus. I’m sorry, I had a redbull and my bladder was on the verge of spilling down my leg. Anyways, we got no response..which I thought was RUDE.

There was a lot of movement from the bus to the building on and off, in which I got video. Two of the guys were William Birkhead and Demetrius Collins, musicians that play with Hanson. We were actually able to get Demetrius to come over and take a picture with us.

Demetrius Collins

The video is a bunch of short clips put together and at one point I put the camera in my pocket while it’s still recording. Rookie move but you can still hear what’s going on. 🙂

By this time a small crowd  of women had arrived, we were afraid they were going to charge the bus and ruin it for us but that never happened. The good thing was, that because it was super cold and rainy most of them didn’t stay long.  We lost a few girls and then new ones would arrive, they would leave and maybe come back but it wasn’t a mob and they played it cool. Especially when Zac came out!

I’m not sure what time or how long we were out there but finally one of the brothers came out, Zac and he walked right over to us. He took pictures and signed autographs, he talked and was very kind. He even informed us that it was cold and rainy outside. He then disappeared into the building. Enjoy the short video.

Hanson 098

Ok, 1 down 2 more to go and so we waited some more. At this point it was getting late and we knew they had a sound check to be getting to but the others had yet to come out of the bus. It was close to 5 I think at this point and Shari and myself were getting annoyed. Finally Taylor and Issac come out but they didn’t even acknowledge us, especially Issac.. but that’s another story. We spoke up, asking them for a quick picture but Taylor responded with they had to do a sound check. They then continued to walk into the building and fade into the shadows, away from us.

At this point everyone that was waiting left, while Shari and myself discussed further actions.

1) How long would sound check take?

2) Will they come back out afterwards?

3) Do we leave and come back?

These were all good questions but we decided to hit up Starbucks, use the bathroom and get warm. Shari got a coffee and I released my bladder and then we chilled discussing our next move while we warmed up our bones.

We decided to head back and scope out the joint, while walking through the smelly ally way we stopped and hid in a doorway to keep out of the elements AND listen to some sound check.

When the music stopped we made our way back to our original space but stopped to talk to the HOB staff, we made a few friends. We were chatting away with 2 of the guys, since it was just Shari and I they allowed us to chill so close. At this point Issac came out, only a few yards away talking on his cell phone. We never yelled at him or tried to make contact but we know he saw us and never once made any attempt to say hi. He was slowly making our shit list. Then Some other girls came by messing up our mojo and at this point the security asked us to go back to our normal spot.

Shari and I chilled for a bit longer and it was a good thing because Zac came back out, he is super sweet. In the video some girl tells Zac Happy Sweetest day, he replies with “Swedish day?” and is apparently confused by Ohio’s made up Holidays. Very short after that he exits the tour bus with some items and comes back over to us to accept some birthday gifts from our stalker friends. We ask him about his brothers but he pretty much states that he has no control over them and that they probably wont be back out since there are dressing rooms inside. Check out the video below.

It’s about 6 or after 6, I don’t even know anymore but we had another stop to make before the concert tonight. Johnny Mathis was also in town and performing at The Playhouse, I wanted to very much meet him. The original plan was to grab all 3 Hanson brothers super early and then walk to The Playhouse but a few unexpected events happened.  1) Mr. Taylor and Issac Hanson never came out to take pictures and didn’t leave their bus till super late. 2) It was cold and rainy so the walk we had in mind was out of the question. However we were still determined to grab Johnny and we hopped in my car and headed his way, but not before we grabbed some Chipotle. We found the door he most likely would head in and we stood outside in the rain eating our chicken bowls. Many people dressed in tuxes and carrying instrument cases kept going inside. I finally asked about him and we were informed he was already in and that they rehearsed earlier in the day. I asked a few of them to send him out but that never happened, it was close to his show time and we decided to head back to HOB. At this point we figured to leave the Hanson concert early and make it back to The Playhouse by 10 and catch Johnny on the way out. However once the concert started, which was like after 9 we figured there would be no way and decided to forget about Johnny and focus on Hanson.

We got back into the car and headed for The House of Blues, couldn’t find any parking again. Ended up going back to the same place, paying again and paying $4.00 more. I even asked the guy for a discount since we were JUST there but he laughed.

Got inside the venue and picked up our free tickets, thanks to the radio station 102.1 and made our way inside. We snuck to the front and had the same spot we had for Icona Pop, only this time it was 99.9% more crowded. Below are some short clips of a few of their songs, I have other video but for some reason the sound is not working. #Lame

We enjoyed ourselves a lot, it was a great and upbeat concert.

We left before the encore so we could get outside before the rush of people and get a good spot in line. We still had 2 Hanson brothers to meet, we were very determined. When we arrived outside there was about 3 girls before us and we got behind them as security instructed us to do.  HOWEVER! When the concert was over a wave of screaming bitches came flooding from all different directions and formed their own line. Needles to say, the front became the back and we were not happy with it.

To make this story even longer, we tried to get people to move but it wasn’t happening. Security had pretty much given up and was only focused on keeping people away from the bus and back from the brothers when they came out. Shari and myself were not to worried, we figured it would happen just would take longer to get to us and it almost didn’t happen because where we were was on the other side of the fence. However we made it happen. Zac came out first..and pretty quick I might add, he started by us but didn’t get to us because we were to far back. We were ok with this because we had met him earlier in the day. Next came Taylor, he started out on the other side and worked his way towards us. When he got closer, we had to push our way to him because bitches weren’t moving. Shari got her picture and then I took a picture with my camera for two sisters who’s camera had died earlier that night. When that was all said and done Taylor started to say bye and turn around without getting a picture with me, I almost shat. So I was like hey, he looked at me, I gave him the puppy dog face…which worked because he signed my Middle of Nowhere cd and took a picture with me.

Hanson 097

Him and Zac had returned to the bus and we were informed by our new HOB security buddies that Issac was NOT coming out.

So. This is how I feel about this whole experience and Shari feels the same way. I would like to hear what everyone else thinks about this, please comment below.

When myself and Shari woke up and spent hours in the cold and rain (our choice) we figured it would be an easy grab, get them before the show this way it’s done and out of the way. Zac was the only one who came out and took the time to sign for us AND he came out early enough. Issac walked by us, there was only like 10.. if that many fans out there and he couldn’t take 60 seconds for a few pictures. Issac didn’t even come out after the show to sign or take pictures, which leads me to believe that he has anxiety or IBS. Taylor did come out afterwords along with Zac and took their time with the crowd, which was awesome. I just can’t get over the fact that they knew we were standing outside in the freezing cold before the show, only a few of us and you couldn’t pop out real quick. Even when going to your sound check and seeing us out there, they still had hours before showtime. They could have come out 3 minutes earlier took pictures with us and then been on their way.

I’m not ungrateful and they didn’t have to talk to us or come back out after the show but it just  makes me wonder why.

Personally I would feel it better to satisfy a few then a giant crowd, I mean we were well behaved and very polite.

Some celebrities think they are to good and don’t need to interact with their fans, lucky for us we have been lucky on our adventures.

Hanson was a tough one and we got 2 out of 3, don’t worry Issac… you’ll be back and when you do.. I’ll be waiting.

Thank you again.

Much love.

Icona Pop(s) into our lives.

Hello.

Sorry for long delays in between posts, tracking down celebrities takes time and long hours.

I had purchased three (3) tickets off of Groupon for $10 a piece, great deal. Pat wanted to see the concert but had no interest in the festivities (stalking) that would take place hours before the show.

September 15th, 2013 Shari and I woke up at noon and headed to downtown Cleveland where we set up shop behind House Of Blues. There was already a tour bus there but the hardest part was figuring out who was actually on it. Icon Pop had like 3 opening acts and it could very likely been their bus, so the wait began. Shari and I kept watch for any movement or suspicious activity, which was pretty boring since all we were doing was sitting on a cold curb.

Finally random naked people started to emerge from the bus and of course I was ready and recording, check out the footage below.

The two gentleman happened to be members from K.FLAY and Sirah which we found out after the show and saw who they belonged to.

Shortly after that… 2 chicks appeared and headed towards the street away from us, Shari just knew it was someone special and we took off after them. I know what you are thinking and NO, it’s not the ladies from Icona Pop..YET.

Check out the video below as we put our stalking into 3rd gear.

k.flay

That was K.FLAY who we ran into, listen how I pretend we just happened to be looking for something to eat too (how ironic) and strangely enough ran into them. She was super cool and took pictures with us, no we didn’t end up showing her around or having lunch with her either.

After that we hurried back to our curb and bushes to wait for Icona Pop.

While we were waiting a man came over to us, he was one of the crew and informed us Icona Pop was flying in and would not arrive till around 3:30pm. We had some time to kill so we hit up Tower City, got some snacks, a beverage, and used the facilities. I was nervous and had to poop but I held that off till later, didn’t want to be late getting back.

We arrived shortly before 3:30 and patiently waited, things were quite and we were getting ancy. We decided to walk past the back entrance to House Of Blues and check things out, there was a young kid standing guard. We asked him some questions regarding Icona Pops whereabouts but he was clueless. Just then a vehicle pulled up and was asking our friend a question, not sure what about but 30 seconds later the ladies from Icona Pop stepped out from the car.

Below is video of the whole encounter, please pay no attention to my voice. I really need to stop talking.

Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo were the two most sweetest gals ever, they stopped to talk, sign, and take pictures.  I am so glad we got to meet them and experience what great people they are, massive props.

Icona Pop

After we got to meet them, Shari and I went home since we had a few hours left before the concert.

When we arrived at The House Of Blues, Shari and I got a free makeover curtsy of Bed Head products and Q104. I got a mohawk and Shari got cute glittery ribbons or something put in her hair, Pat opted out of the fun.

All the shows were great and at one point we slipped out to meet Sirah after her performance, she was the only one we hadn’t snagged yet. Very friendly and adorable, we informed her that we were the ones outside the bus. She said she saw us and waved from the inside but obviously we didn’t see her.  She signed her poster “Lauren, I wish we hung out in the bushes. Till next time…”

Sirah

Shari and I then  made our way back in and off to the right side of the stage where we waiting for the main event. Even though we were off to the side we had a great view, except for this middle aged cracked out woman who constantly flayed her arms back and forth ruining everyone’s pictures and getting in the way… Oh well, she was having a good time too.

Check out the videos below of Icona Pop during the show.

We had a great time, everyone we met was super cool and laid back. Their performances were fun and exciting and I am glad we were able to share in that moment.

Thank you everyone again for stalking by, please share and post your comments. XOXO

An En Vogue failed attempt turns up Cleveland Hero.

The plan was to get En Vogue before their performance at 8:30, little did we know that they would roll up in a taxi at 8:20 and disappear. Here is our story.

I worked till 3:30 and raced down the freeway to get Shari, got her ass and made it to House Of Blues a little after 4:00pm. We scouted the area which turned up nothing out of the ordinary, this usually makes it harder for us to devise a plan. Many cars were coming and going which also made it hard for us to pick out the drop off vehicle but we continued to watch. During this time I decided to tape Shari giving a brief explanation of what we were looking for, when we were rudely interrupted. Watch below.

We had about three interruptions similar to that during the 4 and a half hours we were there waiting. We also ran into a little girl and her drunk Aunt and Grandma, she had a sign and wanted to meet the one member of the group. Which we found out was no long a part of the group, they later disappeared into the building to see the show. During this time we met a big En Vogue fan who filled us in on some stuff and waited with us till the end, we became Facebook friends and found out he is one of us. While all this was going on a car drove up and two dark skindid men got out with two black women we assumed to be part of the band, we ended up being wrong. We watched as the one man walked back and fourth on the street, he was looking for a car. We figured him to be a manager or part of the band somehow, so our new friend went up to him and asked him a question. This man ended up being Cleveland’s Hero, Charles Ramsey! Once we found out who he was we JUST had to get some pictures with him.

Charles RamseyShari

Charles was super cool and funny, he talked with us for a bit before he left. We found out that supposedly En Vogue had invited him to come down for dinner and gave him V.I.P access to the show. He was pacing the street looking for the group who appeared to have stood him up. He left, came back out later and found us still chillin’, he said he was going to make us his entourage and then bring En Vogue out himself for us. That was the last time we saw Mr.Ramsey, he meant well. (I have more videos that I might post later)

It was getting darker and by that I mean the night sky was slowly losing light and we were running out of time before the show started, either En Vogue slipped by us or they were running late. Turns out while the three of us were to busy on our phones a taxi drove past us and up to the entrance, I had a feeling but no one was listening to me. I looked up, taxi was gone and in it’s place were three African American women standing there. Still no one was listening to me, I finally got our friends attention and he confirmed it was them. We took off in a light stroll, not to scare anyone away but we were a good distance back so we had to hurry. I got some video of us attempting to get their attention, one of the girls waved but it’s not on tape. My lame butt was not prepared and therefore have horrible video of it, of course I was taping everything else all night long (hookers, homeless, Browns fans, mothers dragging kids behind them..) but the one time it counted I was snoozing. Anyways, Check out the video below.

So ladies and gentleman, this is our FAILED attempt at meeting the band En Vogue. We need to brush up on our tactics and be a smidgen more aggressive..without ending up in jail. Normally we wait till after the show but we are working girls and need to get to bed at a reasonable time.

On the positive side we DID get a glimpse of them and met Charles Ramsey in the mix.

Thank you for checking us out and please STALK again.

Karmin’s Amy and Nick

I’m a little embarrassed to admit this but I really had no idea who Karmin was until today and let me tell you, fan for life.

Of course I know the song Brokenhearted…but that’s about it AND now my favorite song is ACAPELLA.

Shari won tickets from 96.5 Kiss FM and I ended up going as her guest.

This is how it started.

Shari Pollack – First thing, I need someone to take my 10-4 shift at Regal tomorrow because I just won tickets to meet Karmin from 96.5 KISS FM. 2nd, who wants to go with me??
Lauren Dodge …hi. what time? LoL
Shari Pollack 11:30
Shari Pollack Nobody will work for me…but I’m not passing this up!
Lauren Dodge What time you going up?
Lauren Dodge I might be able to do half day, which is 10:30.
Shari Pollack I have to be there between 11:30-11:45 :_)
Shari Pollack that would be perfect actually.
Shari Pollack I’m sure I’d be able to be back at Regal by like 1:30
Lauren Dodge Ahhhhh. Fuck it. Count me in.

The rest is us pretty much trying to find her a way out of work, she ended up switching her shift and working 4-12am. :-/

10:30 came around and I bounced out of work and hit the road, I was in Independence within 35 minutes. We walked into the Clear Channel building, I changed my clothes and then we hit the elevator and made our way upstairs, signed in and got cool little name badges. We were just chilling on the couch when the elevators opened up and out stepped the band Karmin, we just stared like.. Is that them.. They turned to look at us, we waved, they waved and then they had disappeared through the studio doors. Once again I failed at having my camera ready and didn’t get any of that on file, that’s ok though..the best is to come.

Finally we were brought back into a tiny room with a dirty desk and a phone where we waited for another 15-20 minutes at least. During this time we listened to their sound check and had entertained ourselves until it was showtime.

FINALLY..for realz this time we were moved into the studio and within 30 seconds Karmin had come in, here is the video.

Then they stopped and asked if anyone had any questions. I was waiting for Shari to ask her series of serious questions but she never did and I got nervous and spoke up. I told them it was a 2-part question, I informed them about GoneStalking.com and asked if they would give a shout out and then I asked how they felt about people like Shari and myself being all up in their personal space. Of course..fail #2 none of this was recorded until the very end, take a look.

It was a pretty lame video but as you can see they agreed to meet with us afterwards, they also commented on the “Stalking” part of the question but I can’t remember what they said.. I had dry mouth & might have urinated with excitement at that moment.

Up next was Karmin performing their new single Acapella, I didn’t catch the super beginning & stopped before the end, also it’s a tad blurry at first but I finally realized it and fixed it. ENJOY!

They played 2 songs and then in a single file line we followed them out into the.. lobby area I guess you would call it and waited while they took pictures with everyone.

Shari went first, she got her picture taken and was handed the pre-signed glossy photo of the band AND THEN she asked to rap Super Bass with Amy.. Check it out below.

Super Bass =  Super Sweet!

She said she was going to do it.. and she did.

I then went next to get my picture, one with my phone and one for the radio station website.

Me and Karmin

Just when you thought it was over, take a peek below to see my stalking skills in action.

During all of this they were trying to scoot Shari and myself out but I reminded them that Karmin promised us a shout out and thus they let us stay. We approached Amy and Nick who was more then happy to oblige, video below to see what happened next.

As you can see the band Karmin was super cool, funny, generous, patient, and sexy. I am so glad I tagged a long with Shari and met these fine folks, I recommend them and their music to everyone.

Coming down from our high and going down in the elevator we ran into the gentleman who played the guitar during their studio performance and another man somehow affiliated with Karmin. All 4 of us squeezed into the elevator and of course I had to record as they tried to keep all the equipment from getting smashed between the doors and document the experience as it was unfolding.

I have more pictures but I will only bore you with two!

Marco Cassone

This post might not be as exciting as some of my past encounters but I feel this deserves a spot on my blog!

This group is recognized World Wide, so that must mean something.

( I apologize in advance, this was over 10 years ago so I don’t have much exciting information about that night. I lose memory like water down a drain.)

On April 12, 2002 my choir teacher, Mr.Carney took our Northern Lights group to see a vocal group called M-Pact  perform at the Ohio Jazz Summit in Tiffin, Ohio.

M-Pact is a professional  a cappella group based out of California, their voices are their instruments.

It was a great show, a very talented bunch of young men. One in particular I had my eye on, Marco Cassone, I swear he sang to me the whole time.

When the show was over I rushed the stage and got me a picture with him, I then had the rest of the members sign my program. 🙂

Me and Marco

It’s actually quite creepy how alike we look, right down to the giant eyebrows and shiny hair.

SMILE BITCH! An encounter with Toby Ketih

I have the worst memory and since this was over 10 years ago I only remember the important details.

My Mom got on this country music kick and decided one day to take us kids to the Dollar Bank Jamboree back in 2001. There was music, food, and I’m sure a whole lot of other fun and exciting things.

Fast forward to the end of the night, Toby Keith and his band were signing autographs, no pictures allowed… Yeah right.

We waited patiently for our turn, slowly moving down the line of yellow caution tape separating us from them. I don’t know if they thought that was going to stop me and of course it didn’t. It was almost my turn, I told my friend when I say “GO” take the picture, and I figured I only had a small window of opportunity before I was tackled to the ground by some hired homeless security guards.

Suddenly there was a chill in the air as a dark shadow covered my body, glancing down at me and blocking the moon was Toby Keith himself. It was time to make my move, I handed him my program and jumped the tape. I stood next to him and forcefully told him to smile, he did.

The rest of the band signed and I got pictures with I think the drummer and …. Some other guy.

Toby2 toby3

Everyone was very nice, they took the time to sign and take pictures.

From what I remember we had fun and I was able to put another notch in my belt.
